Tutoring: take advantage of it. You’re paying anyway.

Frosh Tip # 2: One thing all schools have in common is their desire to keep the students they accept. Given that, schools will go to great lengths to provide academic counseling and tutoring to anyone who needs it. Take advantage of this; you (and/or your parents) are paying for it anyway.

As an aside, I got a 44 on my first Calculus test. Hearing this, my brother, who was a year ahead of me, “offered” to tutor me (translation: he said “you’re coming over twice a week until you know this stuff better than the teacher.”) So if you don’t want to avail yourselves of the school services, you better hope you have a genius brother willing to waste his time on you.
