Job Hunt Tip #142: Follow up.
Following up is the easiest thing to do yet consistently gets done the least.
I guest lecture at college classes about 6 times a semester, and no matter how many times I implore students to email me afterwards, even specifying directly materials I’d send them about how, say, to interview, no more than 1 in 20 do.
I get that it may seem awkward at first. But that’s just not a good enough excuse. Unlike many aspects of your job search, this one is totally within your control.
