Commencement Speech #3:

John Kerry: “Don’t believe the doubters who claim that we have to make a choice between protecting the environment or growing the economy. That’s a lie. There are millions of jobs to be created, businesses to be built, fortunes to be made in tapping the potential of renewable energy, and I hope that many of you will share in that future.”

This is particularly profound for all those parents worried that robots are taking all the jobs, or that the liberal arts are no longer valuable. Without a world temperate enough for humans, none of the rest of our problems will be important. Hopefully the best and the brightest of you Gen-Z’ers will fix this mess; at a minimum, the opportunities for work in this field are limitless.
