Admit failure

Reshma Saujani, Founder and chief executive, Girls Who Code, “Make failure part of your narrative and celebrate your rejections, whether you’re speaking on a panel, having dinner with friends, or posting on social media.  Sharing your failures will help us all stop fearing the ‘f word’ and to start celebrating it. No one’s real life looks the way it does on Instagram.”

The fishbowl effect is very real for kids these days; the problem with no  one sharing failures and problems is not only do people feel alone in their troubles, but also no one gets the help that others can and want to provide.

I ran a successful business for decades and was still messing stuff up in my last week on the job.  It’s not fun to make mistakes, but it’s normal and actually illuminating to learn from them.
