“Find your passion” is an incredibly common phrase these days. The renowned author Angela Duckworth wrote a really cool piece in the NYT about “fostering” your passion, instead of finding it; this is a huge difference, and is my mantra to all college kids: do what you like to do, A LOT, and then see what happens. But why wait until AFTER you graduate to first foster your passions? MUCH BETTER to start as a freshman. So to all you kids entering college, this is your time to do stuff for yourself – don’t wait and waste four years.
